One memorable day... 11 communities in seven states... Hundreds of pumpkins carved, faces painted, and scarecrows stuffed and sack races run... Thousands of lives changed, coast-to-coast through your attendance and support.
Newland Communities will host a Life is good Pumpkin Festival for the first time in Ladysmith Village on Saturday, October 20, 2007. The festival will be held from 11 am to 8 pm at the amphitheater site on Library Boulevard in Ladysmith Village, Ladysmith, Virginia.
The day-long event will feature music, food and seasonal fun - pumpkin carving, hay maze, and games for kids of all ages. The heart of the festival will be the Pumpkin Tower which will display the pumpkins that will be carved throughout the festival day and will be lit up at dusk. Newland Communities has ordered 2,000 pumpkins for Ladysmith Village families and local residents who come to participate in the event. This festival is a chance for everyone from Central Virginia to come and have a great time together and benefit programs that make life a little easier for families in need. Proceeds raised during the event will benefit two deserving charities, HomeAid and the Caroline County Habitat for Humanity.
Caroline County Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Since 1976, Habitat has built more than 100,000 houses in more than 80 countries including some 30,000 houses across the United States.
